These Apple Slice Nachos are something my mother used to make for us when we were little. I updated the recipe a bit because when she made them it was just sliced apples with peanut butter. I took it a step further and added melted chocolate and nuts to give it more flavour. My family loves nachos, especially my sister, and that’s why my mom made Apple Slice Nachos or us. It’s a really fun dessert!
They are so easy to make and a good way to help use up any apples you might have sitting in the fridge. Adults and kids will both love them so they make a great dessert for family barbeques or picnics.
- One Apple
- 1 Tbsp Peanut Butter
- 2 Tbsp Chocolate Chips
- 2 Tbsp Peanuts
- Slice apple into thin pieces, about a half a centimetre thick. Lay them out on a plate, as flat as possible so you can spread your toppings easily.
- In separate bowls, melt chocolate and peanut butter.
- Drizzle melted peanut butter and chocolate over the apple slices.
- Sprinkle nuts.
This is a great way to indulge your sweet tooth while still having a relatively healthy snack! You can use any type of peanut butter and nuts you like. I use smooth peanut butter and cashews, but crunchy peanut butter and peanuts would be really good too.
